Another U.S. summer is winding down. I heard someone recently say, “If you’re lucky, you’ll get about 80 summers.” Well, I sure am glad that I have the Christian hope of eternity and that I don’t have to fight against time as my mortal enemy. Whether 28 summers or 80 summers, praise God! In the time that I have been gifted, what a great privilege it has been to enjoy it with my family and good good friends. The past few weeks were filled with much-needed rest. I am grateful for a little “reset” before entering this next chapter as campus pastor at IAS in Guatemala. I am so thankful for the people that I have in my life! The ones who open their doors for me to couch surf through the summer. The ones who encourage me. The ones who pray for me and support me in more ways than I could’ve thought possible. I am so appreciative of each conversation, meal, and experience I was able to share this summer! It is always so refreshing to be able to get out of my own head for a while and hear trustworthy voices of wisdom and guidance. Being surrounded by others who live to glorify God above all else through their work, families, and daily lives stirs up something in the heart of a believer. I look forward to taking this shared passion with me into this upcoming school year. I’ll be heading back to Guatemala in just 3 days. Please join me in praying for wisdom and guidance as I return to build up and disciple each precious soul God places in my life. I am praying that I can effectively lead and that God would multiply every little and seemingly ordinary moment into ones that would bear eternal significance.
