Just like that I have 8 years of teaching experience… Excuse me, what? That’s actually so crazy! Maybe my students are right and I really am “unc status” already. Nah! I can’t admit that quite yet. Life is just getting started! The past few weeks have been that end of the school year sort of busy, but praise God we made it to the end. I am thankful for my recent opportunities to speak at a youth worship night hosted by my church and the annual senior breakfast at my school. In every opportunity I am given to share a Word, I always pray that my inadequate speech and abilities can be used by the Spirit to bring people closer to Jesus, grow His kingdom, and that I would glorify His name, not my own. Summer break has arrived! I look forward to the chaos of a what is just a typical summer for me. First up on the agenda is Summit camp at school. This is where we invite elementary and middle school kids from local public schools to our campus and host a fun week of games, crafts, snacks, and chapels! This is virtually ran entirely by our own InterAmerican students! The day after camp ends, I’ll be heading to Guatemala city where I’ll be meeting a friend for a week so that we can go hike some Guatemalan volcanoes and spend some time in Antigua. Then I will be heading to the states for some much anticipated time with friends and family. Plans are already set in motion for time in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee… Like I said, chaos of the summer. Mixed in there with my friends and family visits are a few weeks of summer work with Signature Sports Camps This will be my third year with Signature. I always enjoy the time at these camps and love another opportunity to pour into the lives of students. This summer work also helps provide some much needed extra cash flow. Speaking of cash flow, I also have plans to empty my life of some stuff this summer. I’ve kept a small storage unit of things in the States since moving to Guatemala 2 years ago, but as the unit cost continues to increase and my roots in Guatemala grow a bit deeper I plan to sell virtually all of it and save the money. Be looking out for some yard sale days and swing by! I’ll be returning to Guatemala the last week of July for a third year. I am amazed at the way God has provided and moved over the last couple of years. I look forward to whatever He has next!
