…Praise the Lord

Well I didn’t have a single bite of turkey yesterday, but I do have so many reasons to thank the Lord! Too often I am quick to complain or forget all the blessings that I have. I pray that I will never take a single breath for granted. He has been so faithful. May I never lose sight of the goodness of God even when it’s difficult to feel.

Here’s a little November recap for you —

We had our monthly service day and I went with a group to a local orphanage for the day. Those days are always special for me. A great time to see my students serving their community and whether they realize it or not, being the hands and feet of Jesus. I took a really fast trip (like one of those blink and you miss it kinda trips) to the States for my sister’s wedding. It was beautiful and I’m so happy that I was able to be there for it. Shortly after that one, I was on a plane again. This time to Mexico City for a Model UN competition with 8 of my students. Model UN is an educational simulation of the real United Nations (UN), in which students represent an assigned country, organization, or individual to analyze and examine diplomatic and international relations processes. It’s a super interesting course that I have had the privilege to lead here at IAS the past couple of years. We prepare together as a class and then we go to compete against nearly 700+ other students from a variety of other schools. After returning from Mexico, I took a trip down the mountain to serve with Impacto Ministries in San Juan for a weekend. I was there to help with Zona Cero, a youth camp with around 250+ students. (Here’s a couple videos of worship from the weekend: By the Fire & San Juan Mirador) I had an opportunity to lead a workshop about the historicity/reliability of the Bible. I always love spending time in San Juan and seeing so many familiar faces!

It’s been a good one out here in the Guat!

What I’m reading right now…

The road to 1000mi (1610km)

Currently at 1,153km out of 1610km (716mi out of 1000mi for those of you that use “freedom units”) If I’m going to make the cut then I am staring down a record December. Regardless, I am thrilled with my running journey this year. Strava tells me that I am up 151% compared to last year at this time so I’d say there was some improvement here.
