Sweet Sweet Summertime

I have now completed one full school year in Guatemala! That truly doesn’t seem possible! I am so thankful for the incredible opportunities that I have had since moving out here nearly 11 months ago! I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported me through this first year abroad! Whether financially, through your prayers, or being a sounding board when I needed advice or someone to listen! Thank you so so much!

We are just through graduation season and I had the opportunity to speak briefly at our senior breakfast. I wanted to share some of the notes that I gave to the class of 2025. I took most of these thoughts from Jonathan Pokluda and it is such good advice! If you know of any recent high school graduates, consider passing it along!

To the Class of 2025

As I’m writing this, we are 2 days into Summit camp at IAS. Our IAS students run this camp with minimal teacher/adult help and they really do a phenomenal job! We run this camp as a way to further serve the community around us. We invite kids from the surrounding local schools and give them a week of fun, but more importantly this is a way to share the love of God with each beautiful face that walks onto campus. It has been an honor to be a small part of Summit camp 2025.
